Did you know that the twelve days of Christmas start on Christmas day? Our world acts like it’s the “Christmas season” from Thanksgiving on (who am I kidding, there are light up Santas sitting beside the Halloween candy). And then December 25 rolls around and we’re busy thinking about how swiftly we can get our ornaments back in our attics. At DHPC, we’re going to slow things down a little and bask in the holy day(s) we’ve been pining for through Advent.
Join us for Christmas Eve worship, this Wednesday night, at 5 PM, in the Sanctuary. We’ll roll out the Triple C – candles, communion, and carols. And we’ll let the mystery of the narrative of Christ’s birth wrap itself around us. Know a friend, neighbor, or family member who might not have a church home? Invite them to come along.
And Sunday, December 28? It’s still Christmas, the fourth day, in fact. We won’t have calling birds, but we will have more Christmas carols and a sermon, in storytelling form, from an eyewitness account of the real-deal story. It’s a low key morning. Feel free to wear your casual duds. There will be no Sunday School, but worship will be joy-filled and jubilant!
I am grateful to be spending my first Christmas with my DHPC family. See you in worship,
