The Congregational Life team is sponsoring a hike to welcome spring and say goodbye to a long cold winter. All interested parties and any friends they would like to invite are encouraged to join hike leader extraordinaire, Kenyon Thweatt, at Sweetwater State Park at 9:45 AM on Saturday March 21. Hikers will leave promptly at 10:00 for a two hour hike to the ruins of an old mill and the beautiful shoals of Sweetwater Creek. The trail is not too difficult and should be appropriate for hikers of all ages. All participants should bring a water bottle!
If you are interested in learning about the history of the hike site, a quick internet search for Sweetwater State Park or town of New Manchester will give you some good information. Bring your favorite tidbit to share with other hikers!
After the hike we will celebrate more fellowship over lunch. This is a do it yourself hike so please bring your own drinks and lunch. We will not be roughing it too badly as the park has restrooms and vending machines.
