The following worship services and activities will be taking place in the Druid Hills Presbyterian community as we move towards the most sacred of days in our church calendar, Easter Sunday. We hope you will be able to participate in several, if not all, of these special moments in the life of our church.
10:30am, Neighborhood Palm Processional (Gather on the front lawn)
On Sunday, March 29th,we will gather at 10:30 on the front lawn to distribute palms and line up for a neighborhood processional. Please join us as we sing and wave our palms for all of our neighbors to see. We will conclude by processing into the Sanctuary and to our seats in the pews. If you are unable to process or the weather is not permitting, we will gather outside the parlor to collect our palms and parade into the Sanctuary.
6:30pm, Potluck Supper in the Parlor
7pm, Worship in the Sanctuary
Please join us Thursday, April 2nd, at 6:00 pm in the parlor for a pot luck dinner preceding the Crossover Service in the Sanctuary. Please bring a dish to share and enjoy a meal with fellow members and Crossover attendees and then join us for the final special Maundy Thursday Crossover Service in the Sanctuary.
12pm, Mercy House Urban Stations of the Cross at Freedom Park
Join Mercy Community Church for an urban Way of the Cross in the Poncey-Highlands. We will read the passion narrative from the Gospel of John as we journey together through the streets, connecting moments from Jesus’ passion with the suffering our homeless sisters and brothers continue to experience today.
We will begin at noon in Freedom Park (behind Moe’s). Come early, at 11am, and join us for a picnic lunch in the park beforehand—we will be serving soup and sandwiches. Feel free to bring food to share with others.
9:15am, Garden Worship Service
11am, Worship in the Sanctuary
Make plans to be at DHPC for a joyous Easter morning. It is sure to be a celebratory day. There will be two services, one at 9:15am in the garden and the other at 11am in the sanctuary.
