Looking Toward Youth Sunday
This week, the youth of DHPC will lead us in worship. As part of their Confirmation and Sunday School classes, they have chosen scripture and hymns, and written liturgy. And Sunday from Call to Worship through the Benediction, they will guide us as we worship God.
For the last several weeks, the lectionary has led us through 1 John and scripture passage after scripture passage about love. This week, we get a love double whammy, with John 15:9-17, which tells us that if we keep Jesus’ commandments, we will abide in his love. And his commandment is to love one another as Christ has loved us.
Join us this week, as we contemplate loving one another with all that we have. We’ll imagine together how this (Presbyterian), church with a reputation for being the Frozen Chosen, can shake of its reservations toward showing too much emotion to love more fully. There will be crafts and snacks and a time to celebrate alongside our youth, the great, great love of our God.
- This Sunday’s Scriptures: John 5:1-6 and John 15:9-17
- Sermon Title: Unfrozen Chosen
- Next Sunday’s Scripture: Acts 1:15-17, 21-26
Looking forward to worshiping with you. Don’t forget to stick around for Second Sunday lunch,
