I am really excited about Sunday. We will wrap up our We’ve Got Spirit! series by dipping into the first two stories of the “lost” series – the parables of the lost sheep and lost coin. (The third is the story of the lost son, aka the prodigal.) In each tale, the God-figure seeks out someone or something that is lost. Never giving up, when the seeker’s persistence pays off, a party is thrown in celebration. Join us as we remember that no matter how far we may stray or feel from God, God is always seeking to bring us home. And God rejoices when we are near. That’s reason to celebrate, for sure!
We have a spirited day in store, so make sure to:
• Wear your “We’ve Got Spirit” t-shirt or other green shirt. This is a casual Sunday, so come ready to hang out, enjoy fellowship with one another, and play.
• Stick around following worship for lunch sponsored by Congregational Life and a Tailgate party, hosted by our youth, with fun and fellowship and tasty treats (snow cones, anyone?) for all ages.
• We’ll have dining spots inside and outside, and you are welcome to bring your lawn chairs.
• Bring a friend or invite someone back to worship. The fall is a great time to try something new or refresh a commitment.
