The scriptures are packed with sermons and stories by Jesus. This week, we encounter his first. It’s got to be good right? Not so. At his first time up to bat, Jesus manages to enrage a synagogue full of people and get himself run out of town. For me, a person who doesn’t like to do things that I can’t do well, this flaming dud of a start for our Savior does my heart good. Join me this Sunday as we explore what Jesus’ willingness to fail means for us as his followers.
- Focal Scripture – Luke 4:14-30
- Sermon Title – “Starting Off with a Fizzle”
We will ordain and install our incoming class of Elders. Please join us on this important day for the church and for Jennifer Beck and Callie Thweatt (ordained and installed) and Elizabeth Adams and Bob Beard (installed).
See you in the pews,
