This week we continue our journey through Luke’s gospel with two healing stories that happen back to back. In the first story, Jesus heals the servant of a centurion because the boss is kind and faithful. In the second, Jesus sees a widow in tears following her son’s death. He touches the coffin and the deceased son sits up and begins to talk. The healed and their associates are very different from one another, which begs the question, “Why did Jesus choose to heal them?” This Sunday, we’ll wrestle together around why God grants healing to some and not to others. There are not quick answers, but our mutual learning and worship shall certainly bear fruit.
- Focal Scripture – Luke 7:1-17
- Sermon Title – “Can You Heal Me Now?”
We’ll be joined by OIKOS, the international campus ministry housed at DHPC, with leaders Sam Kim and Ki Park, serving as worship leaders. Be sure to extend a special welcome to OIKOS students and to make plans to stick around for the special Korean lunch sponsored by that ministry.
I look forward to worshiping with you,
