This Sunday will be our first together after the birth of Christ. The hubbub is over, the angels have sung their songs, the shepherds are on their way back to their sheep. It’s only the wise men who have yet to appear. Whether you find yourself feeling an angel who has put on a huge Christmas production and is in need of some rest or like the wise man who knows something big is happening, but you hasn’t quite figured it out yet, I hope you will join us for worship this Sunday. We will spend time with Simeon and Anna, two minor, but significant characters in Luke’s gospel. Simeon and Anna are among the first to see the baby Jesus post-birth and, upon seeing the infant they are both so overwhelmed with wonder, they can’t help but shout to the Lord in song. During worship on Sunday we will follow their lead and take time to simply rest in the glory of the newborn Lord and praise him with song.
Scripture: Luke 2:22-40
Sermon: “Do You See What I See?”
I look forward to bringing 2017 to a close with you.
