Sunday, as we continue our series, Embodied: Psalms for Every Part of Us, we will take a look at the heart. Handily, we have a Psalm of Thanksgiving to guide us. If you’re interested in a little pre-worship homework, skim Psalm 107. The chorus “Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind,” appears over and over, followed by line after line of ways that God demonstrates love. Let’s imagine together how we might employ a spirituality of joyful gratitude, of love returned for love. What are you thankful to God for this week? How might your heart lead you to show that thanks?
- Scriptures: Psalm 107:1-3, 17-22
- Theme: “Embodied: Heart”
This is a big Sunday for us. And I hope you will take part in all of it 🙂 But if you can’t make all of it, I hope you’ll join us for some of it.
- The Poverty Simulation offered by the Atlanta Food Bank, at the 9:45 AM Sunday School Hour, will help provide perspective on the multi-faceted issues of poverty.
- The Beans and Rice Meal, for Second Sunday lunch, reminds us that much of the world depends upon beans and rice everyday for their energy and sustenance.
- And Ministry Architects will be with us Sunday to listen to you about your experiences of DHPC and your dreams for her future. Come share your thoughts. It’d be awesome if you’d sign-up ahead of time so we know to expect you, but please show up even if you haven’t registered.
Thank you for participating in our ministry options for every part of you. I look forward to experiencing God with you in heart, body, mind, and hopes on Sunday,
