This Sunday, we will worship in two places – from DHPC’s beautiful sanctuary and from the chapel at Hinton Center, on the Congregational Retreat, overlooking the lake and mountain valley.
If you’re staying in Atlanta this weekend, you have the good fortune to worship alongside Rev. Lindsay Armstrong who is the Director of New Church Development for the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta, helping visionary congregations and pastors (like our own Sam Kim and the Oikos ministry) foster new worshipping communities.
Robert Welborn will share a bit about his love and hope for the church as part of our stewardship campaign, through his Rooted and Reaching Reflection.
- Scripture: Luke 13:10-17
- Sermon: “A Light Touch”
On the retreat, we will explore Sacred Activism with opportunities to reflect, plan, dream, and share alongside a talented team from Georgia Interfaith Power and Light. Sunday morning, the group will gather to explore the concept of chosen family, and how the circumstances of life present opportunities for us to grow Christ’s church or to run from the challenge.
- Scripture: Ruth 1:1-18
- Worship will be lead collaboratively by the participants.
Prayers for our community in two places this Sunday.
