Dear DHPC community,
As we prepare for worship, I offer these random facts about U.S. storage habits:
- In the U.S., 65% of self-storage renters have a garage in their home, 47% have an attic, and 33 percent have a basement.
- There are more self-storage facilities in America than there are McDonald’s restaurants.
- 90% of the world’s self-storage is located in the United States.
This week we continue our God is in the House series with a peek inside our garages, as we explore a parable that Jesus tells about a storage unit. (Technically, it is a tale about a rich farmer who plans to expand his barn to pack it full of excess grain.) Join us as we think about our relationship with space and stuff, and the invitation God extends for us to evaluate where we store our treasures.
Scripture: Luke 12:13-21
Sermon: “God is in the House: Garage”
If you, like me, could use a little help with tidying up your storage space and want to do that in an environmentally responsible way, the mission team is sponsoring a recycling collection point. Bring your paint, chemicals, clean styrofoam, and electronics to the front parking lot from 10-10:55 AM, and immediately following worship.
Peace be with you all,
