Intown Food Pantry Needs and Clothing Donation Opportunities

As usual, you responded to the Food Pantry needs: coffee, Mac & Cheese cups, easy open cans of meat and vegetables, single serve items…all this plus sandwich size Ziploc bags! Please keep up the good work. The Pantry relies on DHPC to provide these items. There is significant need for tea bags, so please add them to your shopping list!

If you’re not familiar with our commitment to the Intown Food Pantry, check it out on the church website. An offering basket is in the back of the sanctuary where you can leave donated jars of instant coffee, tea bags, easy open cans, etc. The filled basket, along with the offering plates, will be brought forward at the Invitation to the Offering part of the worship service.

There are people in Atlanta who need gently used clothes. Druid Hills Presbyterian Church can help meet this need.

Mission Haven, adjacent to Columbia Theological Seminary, provides short term lodging for missionaries on furlough, those studying in the area, and for those in transition after retirement. Mission Haven has a Clothes Closet for these missionaries and for students at Columbia Seminary. This ministry welcomes donations and provides clothing without charge.

The Intown Clothes Closet is located at the terrace level of our church, adjacent to Mercy Community Church. Men from Journey who are job hunting or who need clothes for work come there. Also our neighbors from Mercy Community Church who need clean, dry clothes come to Intown Clothes. Clothing is provided without charge.

Your donations can be left in the hallway opposite the parlor. We’ll be sure they get to one of those two places. Both will provide receipts for IRS purposes. Thank you for helping your neighbors, those nearby and those associated with the Seminary.
