Fall Kickoff definitely ranks as one of my top ten favorite Sundays of the year. The building is buzzing, the kids have all grown a little taller over the summer, and fresh opportunities to learn, worship, and play fill the air. Aside from kicking off the new Christian Education year, we will also begin a worship series on The Book of Revelation. Learn more about The Big Reveal, here*.

This week we will explore the opening to this book, which is part apocalyptic, part prophetic, part letter. Revealed to “John of Patmos”, Revelation begins with a vision of Jesus, and stars, and lamps, and instructions to share this with the “Seven Churches in Asia”. Join us as we wrestle with why God reveals this vision for the church and what it means for God and for us as God’s people

  • Scripture – Revelation 1:9-2:7
  • Worship Focus – The Big Reveal: Church
  • Sermon Title – “Written in the Stars”

That’s not all! The choir returns this Sunday. Our new Director (soon to be Associate Pastor) for Education and Mission, Elizabeth Soileau Acton, will join us, too. And worship wraps up with a tasty opportunity to eat and play together. So, stick around for the Fall Fiesta.

I can hardly wait to gather with you this Sunday. Bring a friend. It’s a great day to explore something new,

* It you’re looking for more depth in the study of Revelation, I encourage you to participate in the Adult Roundtable Sunday School Class, which will explore the themes/scriptures from worship each week. Roundtable will take part in Fall Kickoff in the Parlor, at 9:45 AM, this week, before heading upstairs to their classroom. They typically gather at 9:30 AM, in room 216.
