This Sunday DHPC will be bustling with good music and opportunities to welcome the community into our sacred home. Our chancel and handbell choirs will share their gifts for our special music Sunday, bringing God’s word to life in melody and song. DHPC’s younger youth also join in leading worship. This is a wonderful day to invite those who might be looking for a church to celebrate the miracles of the Christmas season, so invite a friend, family member, or neighbor.
Make plans to stick around for Back to the Barn, which offers an opportunity for families in our community to celebrate the wonders of Christmas with a petting zoo, ponies, and crafts galore. The event lasts from 1:30-3:30 PM and is totally free, so invite your friends with children to take part. There are chair massages for the holiday weary amongst us, as well.
Christmas can be a lonely and tender time. Those who do not have a church home may be receptive to an invitation, and there’s no warmer spot to share in the love of Christ than our open and inclusive congregation. Give the gift of invitation this Christmas.
I know that I can’t imagine being anywhere else than with this loving community as we draw near to the manger.
